As you know, if you’ve been reading my articles, FB updates, and tweets, I believe that curvy girls are beautiful. I challenge people to think about whom we would think is beautiful if society didn’t tell us who is beautiful? Society has distorted the general population’s idea of beauty. Regardless of the current socially constructed ideas of ‘beauty,’ women are beautiful no matter the size or shape of their form.
It’s often hard to do a fair test when challenging people to consider this, since slim fashions and full-figure fashions are often quite different, and since slim and voluptuous models are seldom seen together. That’s why I think the following is so great. Two models, one typically skinny and one voluptuously plus-size, side-by-side wearing identical outfits in their size. The models are Jacquelyn Jablonski (size 2) and Crystal Renn (size 12).
Women don’t simply decide to hate their bodies, society teaches them to. Gals, if you’re skinny be happy, and if you’re curvy be happy. Slim girls are constantly being told that they’re beautiful, but if you’re voluptuous you’re beautiful too… flaunt your curves.
Now, here is another comparison by Debenhams of two models wearing similar outfits, Petite Tess Montgomery (size 4) and plus-size model Jada Sezer (size 18). Proving that if you want a bikini body, all you need to do is find a bikini that fits and put it on.
Left: Tess Montgomery (age 30) is a Swedish model. She is 5’ (152 cm) tall and her measurements are 34B-23-33 (Clothes Size 4)
Right: Jada Sezer (age 23) is a UK model. She is 5’9” (175 cm) tall and her measurements are 41G-34-46 (Clothes size 18)
