The average American consumes 45 pounds of sugar per year – enough to fill a wheelbarrow, and most of this sugar is in drinks.
Soda gets most of the blame, but the fastest-growing marketing sector for beverage companies is so-called “fruit drinks”.
The companies selling these sugar drinks are targeting parents and children with huge and effective marketing campaigns.
We think if you’re going to drink a “fruit drink” make sure there’s plenty of vodka or gin in it. However, the healthiest choice is to drink your booze neat. Cheers!
