Study: Women want to cuddle; men want a drink, after sex

A new study has found that women want intimacy after sex, while men want reward.

The study by Albright College psychologist Susan Hughes found that females are more likely to “want to engage in intimate, bonding behaviors,” according to Discovery News.

Females placed more importance on intimate talking, kissing, cuddling and caressing, professing their love after sex and talking about the relationship after sex. Men, meanwhile, were more likely to pay attention to “gaining extrinsic rewards” like drinking, smoking, eating or asking for favors.

Men also were more likely to initiate kissing before sex while women were more likely after sex.

For the recent study 170 people answer an online questionnaire about their after-sex behaviors.

The Daily Mail reported that Hughes also suggested that some women are likely to use flings to screen whether a man would make good long-term mate.

Hughes also found both sides agreed on the importance of saying “I love you” in a committed relationship.
