  3. KGC says:

Wow. Of all the photos of Courtney Love looking horrific in this day and age, you actually managed to find one where she looks hotter than she used to.
    Genuinely shocked.

  4. Kym says:

    Actually it IS Heart

  5. Woof48 says:

Ugliest then and now: Keith Richard
Second place(s) for now: Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler. That’s what hard living will do to you.

  10. Some of these people haven’t aged well but some of ’em like Annie Lennox and Brett Michaels have actually been looking *better*!

  11. Michael says:

Some of these musicians have aged very well, some even look better than they used to. At the very least, many of them look about like what you would expect.

Grace Slick was the biggest surprise, but then you do the math and realize she was 30 when she performed as part of Jefferson Airplane at Woodstock.

How did the saying go back then? “Don’t trust anybody over 30, unless it happens to be Grace Slick.”

  12. badoo says:

The last are same xD (C. C. DeVille band poison)

  13. wweezzyy says:

The Grace Slick shot made me sad.

  14. cjsavvy says:

    Fucking awesome!!!

  15. Casper says:

Just goes to show that when the tabloid beast decides to annihilate you, it chews you up and spits you out and then uses what’s left as a punch line. No respect for anyone’s dignity anymore. Word of warning, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. It will happen to you, too.

  16. edgy says:

Gracie Slick, unanimously collectively broke our hearts with this photo. The greatest female voice in rock…sigh

  17. someone says:

Grace Slick’s one of the best at aging here– authentic and beautiful. No injections, implants, cutting, pulling, stitching…. down right defiant! Wish she’d still perform, but she thinks old rockers are ridiculous.

  18. Peter Crowley says:

“HARD LIVING”??? Hard living is Eddie Kirkland (born August 16, 1923) driving himself to the next gig and sleeping in the car… for 60 years… and still going strong!

  19. Saffie says:

Nikki Sixx still looks goodfor the toll he took in life, and I agree, Brett looks better now…

  20. Jeeem says:

WoW! Grace Slick is the worst in my opinion…

But hey, some grow old gracefully, some don’t..especially the ones who lived really hard lives.

Steve Perry…I still kick myself in the ass for turning down an invitation to a party when I was living in Virginia, and Steve Perry showed up. He said a few songs before signing some autographs and finally leaving…I even had tickets to his concert in Newport at the time. Damn.

  21. gypsy says:

    where’s sabastian?

  22. judy says:

So many look so much better older… Especially the guys.

  23. laura Aguirre says:

courtney love looks better, i was just talking about this to someone. damn her.

  24. MJR says:

Ted Nugent has claimed never to have done drugs. Does he deserve to be on this list just for burning the candle at both ends??

  25. Rainey Boo says:

How about Mullet Overload mutch? ew, i am scared for life!

  26. Jay says:

What a trip down memory lane! I noticed several were born in 1948 – somehting in the water that year? Others I “think” I would like to view are: John Mellencamp, Elton John, Billy Joel, Roger Daltry, Pete Townsend, Paul Mc Cartney. Thanx so much for featuring it. I found out via the Facebook page for Lern from St. Louis’ KSHE.

  27. mingo says:

one thing is for sure…they all somehow ended up looking like their moms…

  28. Keb says:

Give Grace Slick a break — she’s over 70 and hasn’t stooped to the plastic surgery that others have resorted to (ex. David Lee Roth – eww). The Stones are the worst-off, I think — who would have guessed that the oldest one (Charlie) would end up looking the “best?”

  29. Cal says:

Is it wrong of me to say this about most of the ‘old-time’ rock goddesses (as they’re mainly old enough to be my mother), but they look so much hotter now than they did back then!?! it’s just that the clothes, the more flattering haircuts that emphasis their good bone structures and the lil’ cheeky twinkles in their eyes so rock me to my core!!!

the guys look slightly healthier too, but that might be that rehab and better healthcare from harley street docs have slimmed them down and got them looking less stringy and near-death from ‘herrion-chic’esque complexions!

but still them ‘old gals’ are so hotter than most modern women in the business!

  30. Shaimson says:

To see them all perform 1 more time….what a dream !!!!!!

  31. that’s awesome, the way they looked back then and now…wow

  32. Daniela says:

    And Paul McCartney?

  33. ignatzz says:

The complaints about Grace Slick show how celebrity-obsessed the culture is: she looks just fine for a 71-year-old woman. That’s what 70-year-olds actually look like. Good for her.

  34. Sisi says:

Lilly Allen IS a young Linda Ronstadt

  35. Cory Howell says:

Some of them actually look better today: the Boss looks great, Meatloaf looks way healthier, Bon jovi and Stevie Nicks look pretty good. Most of them, of course, look pretty…weathered, I guess I would say.

  36. PeterJenkins says:

    No Michael Stipe?! Booo.

  37. A says:

Brett Michaels is neither old nor awesome, yet he made the list over Jimmy Page? I’d like to see how YOU look when you’re old, since you clearly smoke crack.

  38. Caroline says:

Nancy Wilson wrecked her beautiful face with all that plastic surgery. Nancy, you shouldn’t have!!

  39. David Voth says:

This article (53 Old Rockers ~ Then & Now) has now updated. It now includes Billie Idol, Madonna, and Paul McCartney. Furthermore, it is now available as an instantly downloadable E-Book.

  40. Jen says:

Where’s Jimmy Page??? Whaaat? Putting John Paul Jones on there wouldn’t hurt, either ( he may have been overlooked in Zep but he’s still better than 90% of these people). Robert Plant did NOT age well and he was the youngest in the band! You should also add Roger Waters, Roger Daltrey, Ringo Starr, Peter Frampton and David Gilmour.

  41. Wiley Weasel says:

I used to work backstage security at 3 venues and I’ve met every one of these people over the years. I’ve seen the changes over the years.

  42. Dee says:

Nikki Sixx is the best looking now and then…Good genes or a little help of Dr. 90210???

  43. HannahS says:

    Billie Idol… still sexy 😀
Same with Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee WOO!!

  44. Red says:

Springsteen and Bowie not only look just as good, they look possibly even hotter than they were when they were young!

  45. shanjacksbabe says:

joe elliott was and is the hottest guy to ever grace anyones list!!!!!!LOVE U JOE

  46. LeAnn says:

    biggest shocker: linda ronstadt…wow she’s changed…alot!

nancy wilson and nikki sixx look amazing,as does pat benatar…

bono as always…the biggest douche in the world!

grace slick….you look so happy with who you are at your age…that’s inspiring….

  47. Carole says:

Madonna’s face is still beautiful, but she had better start wearing long-sleeve turtlenecks forever to cover up her UGLY arms and body. Yuk!

  48. steve in the av says:

lita ford should have been on the list

  49. Karen says:

Still looks very good Bono, James Hetfield, David Bowie, and Jon Bon Jovi.. =)
    The rest looks…no good..D:

  50. Frank Savage says:
