Researchers across the globe are studying the possibility of how our sexuality can actually affect the quality of our health. People who lead a not so intimate life have been associated with heart disease and other diseases. The health benefits of sex, which are physical, emotional, and psychological, can only better our well being in the context of a healthy, balanced relationship.

Having good sex offers health benefits and more, oh yes it does! Sexual activity may help you live a longer, happier, life due to the health benefits. Sex does a body good in a number of ways as well as boosting the immune system and maintaining a healthy weight. Believe it or not that’s a surprise to many people. Sex adds to our life and enhances it not to mention our health, both physically and psychologically. Medical research suggests regular “rolls in the hay” can also ward off potential disease or illness.

Health benefits regular sex can offer include stress relief, improved immunity, calorie burning, improved cardiovascular health, pain reduction, muscle strengthening, and a more restful nights sleep. It also regulates moods and improves memory.

Having sex three or more times a week has been proven to reduced the risk of heart attack or stroke by half.

Good sex is 10 times more effective than Valium and other sedatives when it comes to providing people a sense of relief, satisfaction, fulfillment and tranquility in sleeping and those suffering with depression. Did you know that a hot session of sex rises the heart rate from about 70-80 beats per minute to 110-180 and burns about 360 calories?

Life today is highly stressful. Sex is a great stress reliever. The relaxation after sex is beneficial for the mind and the circulatory system. Sex works like a therapy session in our stressful lives and helps flush out tension.

Research at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA, discovered that university students who made love once or twice a week had considerably higher levels of immunoglobulin A-or IgA, the body’s first line of defense against colds and flu.

During a sexually satisfying romp between the sheets-or anywhere else, for that matter-could help relieve headaches, menstrual cramps, arthritis pain, even chronic pain, for anywhere from several minutes up to 24 hours. So there is no good reason to suffer with pain.

The benefits of good sex in terms of mental health are stupendous. The feel-good chemicals that heighten moods are called Dehydroepiandrosterone or DHEA which produces a sense of euphoria and well-being and ensures energy and vitality. A good romp boosts DHEA levels, high levels of DHEA have been associated with longevity, enhanced libido, building muscle mass, promotes bone growth and wards off depression.

Sexual satisfaction is closely linked with overall quality of life and increased sense of well-being, for both men and women, at any age. So, my advise to you would be go and get some! Safety first of course.
